Retraction & Correction Policy
Retraction & Correction Policy
Dynamic Computing is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the published scholarly record. The journal recognises that errors or concerns may occasionally be identified after an article has been published. Appropriate corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions may therefore be issued when necessary to preserve the integrity of the academic record.
Purpose of the Policy
This policy describes the circumstances and procedures under which published articles may be corrected, updated, or retracted. Editorial decisions concerning post-publication changes are made carefully and objectively, taking into consideration the nature and significance of the issue and its potential impact on the reliability of the published record.
Corrections
A correction may be issued when an error in a published article affects the accuracy, clarity, or completeness of the article but does not invalidate its principal findings, conclusions, or scientific contribution.
Examples may include:
- Errors in author information.
- Incorrect author affiliations.
- Typographical or formatting errors that affect the meaning of the article.
- Incorrect figures, tables, or captions.
- Errors in bibliographic or publication information.
- Other factual errors that can be corrected without invalidating the research.
Where appropriate, a correction notice will be published and linked to the original article so that readers are clearly informed of the change.
Retraction
Retraction may be considered when a published article is found to contain substantial problems that seriously affect the reliability, integrity, or validity of the scholarly record.
Possible reasons for retraction include:
- Fabrication or falsification of research data.
- Significant plagiarism or substantial duplicate publication.
- Major errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions.
- Serious violations of research ethics.
- Unauthorised use of data, materials, or intellectual property.
- Serious undisclosed conflicts of interest that materially affect the research.
- Substantial manipulation of the publication or peer-review process.
- Other serious forms of research or publication misconduct.
Retraction Process
When a potential reason for retraction is identified, the Editorial Office will assess the concern carefully and objectively.
The journal may request clarification, supporting information, or additional evidence from the authors and, where appropriate, consult independent experts, reviewers, institutions, or other relevant parties.
After reviewing the available evidence, the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriately designated editor will determine whether a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other editorial action is appropriate.
Expression of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be issued when serious questions have been raised regarding a published article but the available evidence is not yet sufficient to support a correction or retraction.
An Expression of Concern alerts readers to a significant issue while an investigation is ongoing. The notice may subsequently be updated or followed by a correction, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action once the matter has been resolved.
Author-Initiated Corrections
Authors who identify a significant error in their published article should promptly notify the Editorial Office. The notification should clearly describe the error and, where appropriate, provide the proposed correction and supporting information.
The Editorial Office will assess the requested change and determine whether a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other editorial action is appropriate.
Editorial Corrections
The journal may also identify errors independently through editorial checks, reader notifications, post-publication review, or other appropriate sources. In such cases, the Editorial Office may initiate the correction process without requiring a request from the authors.
Post-Publication Ethical Concerns
Concerns regarding plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, unethical research, authorship disputes, duplicate publication, peer-review manipulation, or other forms of research or publication misconduct may be investigated after publication.
Where appropriate, the journal may request information from authors, reviewers, institutions, or other relevant parties before determining the appropriate course of action.
Integrity of the Published Record
When a correction, Expression of Concern, or retraction is necessary, the journal will make reasonable efforts to maintain a transparent and permanent record of the editorial action.
Notices will clearly identify the affected article and explain the general reason for the post-publication action.
Where technically and ethically appropriate, the original article will remain accessible together with a clearly visible correction, Expression of Concern, or retraction notice. The original article should not normally be removed without an appropriate record of the editorial action.
Authorship and Contribution Issues
Authorship-related concerns identified after publication will be investigated in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
Changes to authorship after publication will only be considered when sufficient evidence and appropriate agreement from the relevant parties are available and the proposed change is consistent with accepted scholarly publishing practices.
Reader Notifications
Readers who identify a potential error, ethical concern, or other significant issue in a published article are encouraged to contact the Editorial Office. Relevant concerns will be reviewed objectively and handled appropriately.
Editorial Independence
Decisions regarding corrections, Expressions of Concern, and retractions are based on the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the published research. Such decisions are not influenced by commercial interests, institutional pressure, author status, personal relationships, or other inappropriate considerations.
Relationship with Research Integrity and Publication Ethics
Post-publication concerns will be considered in conjunction with the journal's Research Integrity and Publication Ethics policies. Where appropriate, the journal may undertake additional investigation before determining the appropriate editorial action.
Policy Updates
This Retraction & Correction Policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in scholarly publishing, research integrity, and publication ethics practices. Any significant updates will be published on the journal website.
