Conflict of Interest Policy

Conflict of Interest Policy

Dynamic Computing is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and objectivity throughout the research and publication process. A conflict of interest may arise when personal, professional, financial, institutional, or other relationships could influence, or could reasonably be perceived to influence, the objectivity of research, peer review, or editorial decision-making.

All authors, editors, reviewers, and other individuals involved in the publication process are expected to disclose relevant actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.

Purpose of the Policy

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that potential conflicts of interest are identified, disclosed, and appropriately managed so that they do not compromise the integrity of the research or the fairness and independence of the editorial and peer-review processes.

Conflicts of Interest for Authors

Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could influence, or could reasonably be perceived to influence, the research, its interpretation, or its presentation.

Potential conflicts may include:

  • Financial relationships with organisations or companies.
  • Research funding, sponsorship, or financial support.
  • Consultancy or advisory relationships.
  • Employment or other professional relationships.
  • Patents, intellectual property, or commercialisation interests.
  • Personal or professional relationships relevant to the manuscript.
  • Institutional or academic interests relevant to the research.
  • Other circumstances that could reasonably affect impartiality.

Authors should disclose relevant conflicts at the time of submission. If no relevant conflicts exist, authors should provide an appropriate statement confirming that there are no conflicts of interest to declare.

Conflicts of Interest for Editors

Editors must maintain independence and objectivity when handling manuscripts. An editor should not handle a manuscript when a personal, professional, financial, institutional, or other relationship could create an actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest.

Where a conflict exists, the manuscript should be assigned to another qualified editor who can manage the editorial process independently.

Conflicts of Interest for Reviewers

Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest before accepting a review assignment. A reviewer should decline the invitation if they have a relationship with the authors, institution, research project, or subject matter that could compromise, or could reasonably be perceived to compromise, their impartiality.

Potential conflicts may include recent collaboration, direct competition, personal relationships, institutional affiliations, financial interests, or other circumstances that could affect independent evaluation.

Financial Conflicts of Interest

Financial conflicts may include funding, employment, consultancy, ownership interests, grants, patents, commercial interests, or other financial relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation.

Authors, editors, and reviewers should disclose relevant financial interests associated with the submitted research or editorial process.

Non-Financial Conflicts of Interest

Conflicts of interest are not limited to financial relationships. Relevant non-financial interests may include personal relationships, professional affiliations, academic competition, institutional interests, strongly held positions, or other circumstances that may affect impartiality.

Conflict of Interest Statement

Authors should include a Conflict of Interest Statement in the manuscript where applicable.

If there are no relevant conflicts, authors may use a statement such as:

The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest related to this work.

Authors may use alternative wording where necessary to accurately describe their circumstances.

Management of Conflicts

Disclosure of a conflict of interest does not automatically prevent publication or participation in the editorial or peer-review process. The Editorial Office will assess disclosed conflicts and determine appropriate measures to preserve the integrity and impartiality of the publication process.

Possible measures may include:

  • Reassignment of an editor.
  • Selection of alternative reviewers.
  • Additional disclosure or clarification.
  • Additional editorial oversight.
  • Other appropriate safeguards.

Failure to Disclose

Failure to disclose a significant conflict of interest may result in further editorial investigation. Depending on the circumstances, the journal may request clarification, require a correction to the published record, or take other appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics policies.

Post-Publication Conflicts

If a previously undisclosed conflict of interest is identified after publication, Dynamic Computing may investigate the matter and take appropriate corrective action.

Where necessary, a correction, expression of concern, or other editorial notice may be published to maintain transparency and the integrity of the scholarly record.

Confidentiality

Information concerning conflicts of interest will be handled appropriately and used primarily to assess and manage potential impacts on the integrity of the research and publication process.

Commitment to Transparency

Dynamic Computing encourages authors, reviewers, and editors to disclose relevant conflicts openly and responsibly. Transparent disclosure helps protect the integrity of the peer-review process, supports informed editorial decision-making, and strengthens confidence in the published scholarly record.

Policy Updates

This policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in scholarly publishing, research ethics, and best practices. Any significant changes will be published on the journal website.

Contact

Questions regarding conflicts of interest or disclosure requirements may be directed to the Editorial Office through the contact information provided on the journal website.
