Data Availability Policy
Data Availability Policy
Dynamic Computing is committed to promoting transparency, reproducibility, and integrity in scholarly research. The journal encourages authors to make the research data supporting the findings of their manuscripts available whenever possible, subject to applicable ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property considerations.
Purpose of the Policy
The purpose of this policy is to encourage responsible research data management, facilitate verification of published findings, and support the appropriate reuse of research data for future scientific investigations. Where appropriate, responsible data sharing can enhance the transparency, credibility, and reproducibility of published research.
Data Availability Statement
Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscripts describing the availability of the data supporting the reported results.
Where applicable, the statement should indicate:
- Whether the supporting research data are publicly available.
- Where the research data can be accessed.
- The name of the data repository, where applicable.
- Persistent identifiers such as DOI or accession numbers, where available.
- Any restrictions on access to the data.
- The reason for any restrictions.
A Data Availability Statement should be provided even when the underlying research data cannot be made publicly available. In such cases, authors should clearly explain the applicable restrictions.
Sharing Research Data
Authors are encouraged to deposit research data in recognised institutional, disciplinary, or public repositories whenever appropriate and permitted. Where possible, data should be provided in a format that facilitates verification and responsible reuse by other researchers.
Authors should ensure that shared datasets are accompanied by sufficient documentation and relevant information necessary to understand and, where appropriate, reproduce the reported research.
When Data Cannot Be Shared
The journal recognises that certain research data cannot be made publicly available because of ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, contractual, intellectual property, or other legitimate restrictions.
Examples may include:
- Privacy or confidentiality obligations.
- Ethical restrictions or requirements concerning research participants.
- Legal or contractual requirements.
- Commercial or proprietary considerations.
- National security or other legitimate security considerations.
- Protection of intellectual property.
- Restrictions imposed by third-party data providers.
When data cannot be shared, authors should clearly explain the reason for the restriction in the Data Availability Statement and, where appropriate, indicate whether access may be possible through a controlled or reasonable request process.
Supporting Materials
Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to provide supporting materials that enhance the transparency and reproducibility of their research, including:
- Datasets.
- Computer code and software.
- Algorithms.
- Experimental protocols.
- Simulation models.
- Additional figures and tables.
- Other supplementary materials relevant to the research.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for ensuring that:
- The reported research data are accurate and appropriately documented.
- Shared data do not violate applicable legal or ethical obligations.
- Necessary permissions have been obtained before sharing third-party data.
- Privacy and confidentiality requirements are respected.
- The Data Availability Statement accurately reflects the accessibility of the supporting data.
- Any restrictions on data access are clearly explained.
Editorial Review
The Editorial Office may request additional information regarding data availability during the editorial or peer-review process where clarification is required.
Where necessary to assess the integrity or validity of the reported research, editors may request reasonable access to supporting data or materials, subject to applicable ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property restrictions.
Research Transparency
Dynamic Computing encourages authors to adopt responsible research data management practices that improve transparency, reproducibility, and the long-term preservation of scholarly knowledge.
Appropriate sharing of research data and supporting materials can strengthen confidence in published findings and facilitate future scientific research and discovery.
Policy Updates
This Data Availability Policy may be revised periodically to reflect developments in research data management, scholarly publishing standards, legal requirements, and international best practices. Updated versions will be published on the journal website.
