Authorship & Contribution Policy
Authorship & Contribution Policy
Dynamic Computing recognises that appropriate attribution of authorship is an important component of research integrity and responsible scholarly publishing. Authorship should accurately reflect the meaningful intellectual contributions made to the research and manuscript.
Principles of Authorship
Individuals should be listed as authors only when they have made substantial intellectual or scholarly contributions to the research or manuscript and are able to take responsibility for their contribution to the published work.
All listed authors should have participated sufficiently in the work to take appropriate responsibility for its content and should approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.
Eligibility for Authorship
Appropriate contributions that may support authorship include substantial involvement in one or more of the following:
- Conception or design of the research.
- Development of the research methodology.
- Acquisition of research data.
- Analysis or interpretation of research results.
- Development of significant software, algorithms, or computational methods.
- Preparation or substantial intellectual revision of the manuscript.
Authorship should not be granted solely on the basis of administrative position, institutional status, supervision, funding support, or other contributions that do not constitute substantial scholarly involvement.
Author Responsibilities
All authors are expected to:
- Approve the final version of the manuscript.
- Agree to the submission and publication of the manuscript.
- Take responsibility for their respective contributions.
- Cooperate in addressing questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of the work.
- Disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
- Ensure that appropriate credit is given to the contributions of other researchers.
Corresponding Author
The corresponding author acts as the primary point of contact between the authors and the Editorial Office during submission, peer review, and publication.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:
- All listed authors have approved the manuscript and its submission.
- The author list and order are accurately communicated to the journal.
- Relevant author contributions are appropriately represented.
- Conflicts of interest and other required declarations are communicated to the journal.
- Communication from the Editorial Office is appropriately shared with the co-authors.
Author Contributions
Where appropriate, authors may be required or encouraged to provide an Author Contributions Statement describing the specific contributions made by each author.
Contribution statements should accurately reflect the actual involvement of each author in the research and preparation of the manuscript.
Contributors Who Are Not Authors
Individuals who have contributed to the research but do not meet the appropriate criteria for authorship may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgements section, with their permission where appropriate.
Examples may include individuals who provided administrative assistance, technical support, language assistance, or other contributions that do not constitute substantial scholarly authorship.
Changes to Authorship
The author list should be finalised before or at the time of manuscript submission. Any request to add, remove, or change the order of authors after submission should be supported by a clear explanation and appropriate agreement from all affected authors.
Changes to authorship may require confirmation from all authors, including those being added or removed. The Editorial Office may request additional information before approving any change.
Authorship After Acceptance or Publication
Requests to change authorship after acceptance or publication will be considered only in exceptional circumstances and where sufficient evidence and appropriate agreement from the relevant parties are provided.
Where an authorship concern arises after publication, the journal may investigate the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with its publication ethics and research integrity policies.
Unauthorised Authorship Practices
Dynamic Computing does not support guest authorship, honorary authorship, gift authorship, or ghost authorship.
Individuals who have not made an appropriate scholarly contribution should not be included as authors, while individuals who have made substantial contributions should receive appropriate recognition.
Authorship Disputes
The journal expects authors to resolve authorship disagreements among themselves wherever possible before submission.
When an authorship dispute is brought to the attention of the Editorial Office, the journal may request relevant documentation or statements from the authors and may recommend that the matter be resolved through the appropriate institutional or organisational channels.
The journal will not normally determine institutional authorship disputes without sufficient evidence and appropriate involvement of the relevant parties.
Artificial Intelligence and Authorship
Artificial Intelligence systems, Generative AI tools, language models, chatbots, and other automated technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of a manuscript.
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of all content submitted to the journal, including content produced or assisted by AI technologies.
The use of AI technologies should be handled in accordance with the journal's AI & Generative AI Policy.
Authorship and Research Integrity
Accurate attribution of authorship is an essential part of research integrity. Misrepresentation of authorship, inappropriate changes to the author list, or deliberate exclusion of individuals who made substantial contributions may be investigated as potential publication ethics concerns.
Policy Updates
This Authorship & Contribution Policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in research integrity, scholarly publishing, and authorship practices. Any significant updates will be published on the journal website.
